The Ardmore Nursing Home project consisted of the renovation, conversion and change of use of an existing hotel, to create a modern nursing home facility. This included the creation of a five storey over basement lift shaft, positioned to connect with future extensions to the building. Major works were carried out on the ground floor to create an extra 12 new bedrooms.
Adapting the building for nursing home care involved the widening of doorways and the construction of fully accessible bathrooms, with Document M equipment as standard. Remodelling the building also incorporated creating nurses’ stations, accessible dining and activity rooms, offices and a new reception area.
Adston managed and co-ordinated the use of existing furniture, while also providing a fit-out and kitchen upgrade.
One of the most appealing parts of the re-imagining of the space, was the creation of a sensory garden, providing a relaxing and welcoming outside area for residents and visitors to Ardmore Lodge.
