Ardmore Lodge Nursing Home, Finglas Dublin.
Renovation and modification of an existing hotel to an 89-bed nursing home facility, including the construction of five story over basement lift shaft, which was installed to the northern façade of the building to provide connectivity to future extension.
Whilst the layout of the floors and rooms were similar, each room entrance door and bathroom were completely removed and widened and each bathroom was remodeled to include Document M equipment fitted as standard, with level access showers and high spec whiterock finish to the walls. A new dining room, dayroom, kitchen servery, assisted bathroom and nurse’s station were constructed on each floor.
All mechanical services including soils and wastes, water services, ventilation, heating services, refurbishment of boiler room and the heating system is running off natural gas.
All electrical services including power distribution, lighting, fire protection, communications, nurse call system and security services were also put in place.
The ground floor was completely gutted from the original layout, to incorporate an additional 12 bedrooms, as well as a dining room, activities room, reception and administration offices. To the rear of the building, there was also a sensory garden constructed for patients.
The internal and external drainage was modified to comply with a planning condition relating to entrapment of potential oil/petrol runoff.
The project also included management and coordination of the client’s internal furniture fitout package and kitchen upgrade works.
