This new build SuperValu store included loading bay, ramps and reinforced walls, associated ground works and carpark. As well as, the refurbishment of derelict old school house which was converted in to retail units.
The site in Kilcock town centre, posed difficulties for parking and deliveries. The development consisted of a new supermarket, 1994m2, 123 car parking spaces and the retail units, to the refurbished building measuring 90m2 and 135m2 respectively.
The buildings were shell and core finish with extensive piling, structural steel frame, insulated concrete floor, precast slabs and stairs and blockwork walls. Wall finishes externally were wall cladding, render and curtain walling.
External works included 123 space car park with SMA finish to access roads and “duraflow” porous asphalt finish to parking bays. Kerbing, delivery ramp with retaining wall, fencing, retaining boundary walls, attenuation tank, landscaping, drainage and services. Services connected to existing outside site boundaries and public footpaths. There was also extensive piled (precast and secant) reinforced concrete retaining walls.
