Off-Site Modular Construction
Adston’s unique approach to off-site modular construction is built on collaboration and exceptional people; underpinned by its corporate values and commitment to outstanding customer service.
Off-site modular construction is where Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) are pre-engineered in Adston’s factory environment, built off-site, then constructed in PODs and delivered to the building site. The PODs are assembled, fitted out in an already built form and put in place section by section on the site. Being pre-engineered in a factory environment results in less defects and wastage through the manufacturing and construction process.
Each section has floors, ceilings, bathrooms and kitchens and all internal wiring; plumbing, electrics, painting, fixtures and fittings are fitted in the factory before being delivered to the site.
The SIPs used, offer excellent thermal performance, lightweight structural strength and time and cost saving benefits over traditional construction methods or systems. Ultimately, it provides an environmentally sensitive and highly efficient building.
There is a solid core of polyurethane throughout the structure which ensures that the building is heated evenly, remains free from cold spots and will allow for much reduced heating costs.
There is integral insulation, which eliminates the need and cost for cavity insulation.
These panels also create more internal floor space for the same external dimensions in comparison to masonry construction, as it provides excellent strength and insulation in a smaller wall section.
Benefits of Off-Site Modular Construction:
Speed: Buildings can be completed up to 50% faster than using traditional site-based construction methods.
Assured quality: All products must meet strict quality standards before leaving the factory, including Adston’s BOPAS standard checklist.
Minimal disruption: Factory-based construction minimises time on site, meaning less noise and disruption, as well as a cleaner, safer, less congested site.
Cost and time certainty: Factory-built projects are not subject to weather-related delays or site-based skills shortages, buildings can be completed on time and within budget.
Future flexibility: Modular buildings can easily be expanded, reduced, reconfigured or even relocated to meet changing needs.
Reduced waste: Offsite modular construction generates up to 90% less waste than traditional on-site building methods
As a result, Adston’s off-site modular construction service creates quality-assured modular buildings that can be completed quickly and safely to meet tight deadlines. The modular solution is a simple installation process, which is safe, clean and unobtrusive, causing minimal disruption to the site and minimal environmental impact.
Off-Site modular construction can be used across various sectors from residential to retail.
